Climateguide.fi provides climate change information through one address
The Climateguide.fi website provides reliable, research-based information about climate change, its impacts, adaptation, and mitigation. The aim of the website is to:
- be a national, publicly available digital service about climate change
- provide up-to-date, independent, and reliable information about climate change based on research, and other verified data
- support decision-making, risk management, climate communication, and learning.
The website is also available in Finnish (Ilmasto-opas.fi) and in Swedish (Klimatguiden.fi).
The website is maintained by Finnish research institutions
The Climateguide.fi website and its main content is maintained by the Finnish Meteorological Institute, the Finnish Environment Institute, and Natural Resources Institute Finland.
The website was originally created by the Finnish Meteorological Institute, the Finnish Environment Institute, and Aalto University (YTK Land Use Planning and Urban Studies Group) in an EU Life+ project (LIFE07 INF/FIN/000152 CCCRP) in 2009–2011.
The technical maintenance of the website is supported by three ministries
The technical maintenance of the Climateguide.fi website is funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland, and the Ministry of the Environment.
Service users’ data is not collected
No personal data file is made of the users of the service. An e-mail address and/or other contact details will be requested in connection with feedback. The user can send feedback anonymously but contact details must be provided if the user wishes to receive a response.
The data on feedback forms is processed by the people maintaining the Climateguide.fi service at the Finnish Meteorological Institute. When necessary, the data on feedback forms can be sent to the partner producing the online service for the purposes of responding to the feedback. The data will not be shared or sold to third parties. The data will not be transferred or disclosed outside the EU or the EEA. The contact details are used only for responding to the feedback.
The service does not collect information that would make it possible to identify an individual visitor. General statistical data on the use of the online service is not collected either at the moment.
